2012 was...

The year I grew up.
The year I did nothing for days on end.
The year I graduated.
The year I decided to travel alone.
The year I got my first temp job.
The year I saw 16 countries in 2 months.
The year I was all by myself.
The year I realised South Africa my favourite place.
The year I got my heart broken.
The year I got my first real job.
The year I moved out for real.
The year I lived alone.
The year I realised I have the best friends and family.
The year I fell in love.

Couldn't ask for a better way to grow up.

Love to watch...

In the spirit of Valentines day, and not being able to avoid the infectiousness that is love (and chocolate), I've decided to compile a list of my favourite romantic/love movies. Here are some of my all time favourite tear-jerkers:

1. Love Actually
Ah...my all time favourite, funny and all kinds of love!

2. You've Got Mail
I don't know why, but I can watch this movie over and over again...the end gets me every time!
3. (500) Days of Summer
Love this movie because it's a realist reflection of love (often one-sided)... Love the soundtrack too!
4. Edward Scissorhands
No words, just tears.
5. One Day
My favourite love story...when the person you're meant to be with was right in front of you all that time. Love the book much more than the film though!
6. When Harry Met Sally
Can watch this over and over again too (what is it about Meg Ryan?)
The old school version of One Day
7. Hatchiko: A Dog's Story
Fine, it's not really a romantic movie...but it's a true story and the dog and his faithfulness is just too much to handle. Crying from beginning to end!
8. Water For Elephants
Elephant. 30s + 40s fashion. Epic Love.
Enough said.
9. The Notebook
Getting to the obvious ones now.
"If you're a bird, I'm a bird"
10. Pearl Harbour
Don't Play that Faith Hill song around me...(tear, *slight cringe too)
11. P.S. I Love You
Warning: Do not watch this with your boyfriend.
12. Pride and Prejudice
Classic. I am literally in love with this.
13. The Frog Prince (weird 80's version)
I now realise the frog is a bit creepy...but I adored this movie since I can actually remember...
Still have the Video!
14. Titanic
Most watched movie of my life. First 'grown up' movie of my life.
First celebrity crush (oh yes). First extreme tear-jerker.
And I will be the first to go see it again when it comes out in 3D later this year!

Christmas

For a few years I haven't really felt the Christmas spirit that much...but finally this year I am feeling fully festive! It could be my new gadgets and gems, the food and the champagne, but really it's the realization that Christmas is about love, giving and sharing...it's a time to let all your issues go and put things aside...take the time to realize all the special in your life and let God take control :) Merry Christmas!

SUMMER

Summer holiday has finally arrived. After months of sitting in a room with no windows, behind a computer screen, with a severe lack of sleep but even more so a social life (or just a life in general)...IT IS FINALLY HERE! I love December - birthday celebrations, Christmas, nights out, days sleeping in, the hot sun, the smell of coconut oil (yes I like it), salty waters, retail therapy, laughter and love...it's all here.
Pic by Jill Greenberg explains it all!

Inspiration

Now that I am unemployed, free, kind of bored I guess, I thought it would be a good time to start a blog...something I have always wanted to do, but never had the time, or inspiration. That's what this blog is all about...inspiration. Inspiration, I need to be inspired, to express myself and maybe learn a little more about well everything (and me) in the process. Maybe move out of the 'somewhere in-between' (although I quite like it here sometimes). So this blog is about all that is life, love, beautiful, now...it's inspiration somewhere in-between.
